    Marching Band

    1. To prepare performances for band festivals, parades, pep rallies, pregame shows, and half time shows at CHS football games. 
    2. Description 
      • Students learn pop-rock/pep music that is to be memorized for all performances. Students learn graphing and map-reading skills as they navigate drill and learn marching formations on the field. 
    3. Meeting Times & Location for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year - Memorial Day Parade Practice on Tuesday, May 7th from 4-6p.m and Tuesday, May 21st from 4-6 p.m. Memorial Day Parade Performance: May 27th at 11 a.m. 
    4. Membership Requirements: Open to all 7-12th grade students. Middle school students may participate by audition only and must be a member of middle school concert band. 
    5. Benefits of Joining 
      • Marching band students gain skills in personal musicianship, spatial awareness, gross and fine motor skills, improved memory, increased physical stamina, leadership, time management, increased confidence, and a sense of belonging and community in their school. 
    6. Past Achievements or Highlights
      • The CHS Marching Band performs at a number of band shows each year as well as community and school events including Memorial Day parades, community pep rallies, football games, midnight madness, and CLSD Open House events. The group has doubled in size in two years and wears their brand new marching band uniforms proudly.
