Tri-M Music Honor Society

  1. To provide an opportunity for musicians to perform, lead, and serve the community. 
  2. Description 
    • Members of Tri-M Music Honor Society apply and are inducted in the fall of each school year. Students applying are required to meet minimum GPA requirements as well as complete community service hours and at least one performance outside of scheduled school concerts per year. 
  3. The group meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 3-4p.m. at CHS
  4. Membership Requirements- A minimum GPA of 4.0 for freshman, sophomores, and juniors. A minimum GPA of 3.5 for seniors. Students must be a member of a curricular school ensemble. 
  5. Benefits of Joining 
    • Students will gain confidence through performance, learn leadership as it is a completely student-run organization, and serve the community throughout the school year. 
  6. Past Achievements or Highlights
    • Students run the annual Music In Our School's Night Cake Auction to raise money for the music programs in Columbia. They also run events and booths at our community Trunk-Or-Treat and band show. Students continue to bring music education awareness to our student body and community. Students have participated in food drives, a shoe drive, and volunteer service at a local animal shelter.

  8. How to get involved
    • Students in band and choir are given applications in September of each school year. If accepted, they are invited to the induction ceremony in October.
