Principal’s Message

January 2024

Dear Columbia High School Families,

As we embrace the arrival of spring, I am thrilled to share with you the exciting events and opportunities that await us in the coming months. Spring is not only a time of renewal and growth but also a period filled with memorable experiences and achievements for our school community.

March kicks off with our "Spotlight on the Arts" event on March 12th, where we celebrate the creativity and talent of our students in various artistic disciplines. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the hard work and dedication of our budding artists. Following this, from March 14th to 20th, we have our quarterly exams. These assessments provide a chance for our students to demonstrate their academic progress and knowledge across various subjects. On March 21st, we mark the end of the third quarter with our Academic Award and Spring Sports Assembly. It's a time to honor academic excellence and celebrate the achievements of our students in both the classroom and on the field.

As we head into spring break from March 29th to April 8th, we encourage everyone to take some well-deserved time off to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones.

Returning from break, we dive into the season with a series of important exams, including the English and Biology End-of-Course State Exams, as well as the Government & US History End-of-Course State Exam. These assessments are crucial milestones in our students' academic journey, and we wish them the best of luck.

On April 19th and 20th, don't miss our much-anticipated Spring Musical performances in the CHS Gymnasium. It promises to showcase our student’s talent and creativity. April continues with significant events such as the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on April 25th and the CHS Community Open House on April 27th, commemorating our 100th Commencement. These events highlight the dedication and achievements of our students and staff over the years.

As we move into May, we have a busy schedule ahead, including the Senior Citizens Breakfast on May 1st, Prom on May 3rd, and various exams for our seniors and underclassmen.

Finally, we culminate the school year with our much-anticipated 100th Commencement ceremony on May 18th, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our graduating seniors.

We encourage everyone to seize the opportunities that spring brings, both academically and personally, and to cherish the memories we create together as a school community.
