We are pleased to announce the enhanced Medical Mutual Scholarship Fund for Customer Schools. Through this program, seniors graduating from Ohio school districts that carry Medical Mutual insurance are now eligible to apply online for a one-time $1,000 scholarship toward college tuition. Additionally, six top applicants across the state will receive a $10,000 award for their outstanding academic and community service efforts.
Below is a brief outline of the required materials and application process:
Student Materials
- One-page essay that includes the student’s college major and describes how receiving a scholarship would impact their life
- Current official transcript
- Student Aid Report from FAFSA (Please see below)

The deadline for applications is April 1, 2024, at 5 p.m.
Application Deadline for Medical Mutual Scholarship Fund for Customer Schools Extended
Due to additional issues with the US Department of Education’s FAFSA program, the application deadline for the Medical Mutual Scholarship Fund for Customer Schools will be extended until one week after notice has been received that the FAFSA issues are resolved.
Students will be allowed to upload their FAFSA Submission Summary, Student Aid Index (SAI), or a copy of their confirmation email as soon as any of these become available.
All applicants were sent an email reflecting these changes on Monday, April 1, and will receive a second email once the issues have been resolved.
This year’s announcement of scholarship winners will be delayed because of this. We will move as quickly as possible to notify winners and their schools once the process has been completed.
The new deadline for applications will be one week after notice has been received that the FAFSA issues are resolved.
