Little Raiders Preschool

Welcome!

Columbia Local Schools would like to welcome you to the Little Raiders Preschool program!

This program individualizes learning and is appropriate for children of varying backgrounds, which is tailored to the current developmental level of each child. A peer model is a child without a disability who displays typical development and behavior in the classroom setting. All students in the program participate in a variety of developmentally appropriate preschool activities. The curriculum will be aligned with the Early Learning Content Standards.

Eva Costa is the preschool teacher and Robin Randall the educational aide. Judy Skoczen will serve as the director of the program. You can reach Judy at (440) 236-5021 if you have any further questions.

Typically developing peer models ages 4 and 5 (by August 1st) will be accepted in this program. Each morning and afternoon session will consist of a total of 12-16 students. Placement will be based on the screening process. Resident students will be selected first followed by open enrollment students, if space is available. Students must be able to use restroom independently.

Preschool will begin on September 10, 2019, and follow the Columbia Local School District calendar for conference days, professional development days, vacations, etc. It will operate on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 am to 11:15 am and 12:15 pm to 3:00 pm. There will be a morning and afternoon session. However, students can only attend one. There is no district transportation for typical peer models.

Tuition is $1,260.00 for the school year. This payment includes an annual $60.00 snack fee.

Director's Message

Welcome to the Little Raiders Preschool. We are very excited to have our little Raiders here in the Columbia Local School District.   Our staff are licensed by the Ohio Department of Education and are dedicated to providing an experience that best meet all student needs and abilities. All children are educated in an inclusive setting in partnership with families and the community.

The program is designed for children four to five years of age and is aligned with Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards.    Typically developing children (peer models)   are an integral part of the program as they demonstrate age appropriate play, communication and self-help skills while learning.

For more information, contact Judy Skoczen at (440)236-5021.
