Rural Urban Record - May 27, 2019

Congratulations to the Class of 2019!  We had a wonderful commencement this past Friday.  I wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors!  I also want to thank all of our 50-year graduates that made the trip back to your old stomping grounds.  I hope that we made your trip worthwhile.  Once a Raider…Always a Raider!

Congratulations to all of our young authors that represented Columbia Middle School at LCCC for the Young Authors Conference.  Alyse Young took home the prize for 6th Grade Best of Show Writer Award!  I want to thank the Educational Service Center and our staff for providing this opportunity for our students each year.

Each school year, the Ohio School Boards Association recognizes local businesses that support their local schools.  Last week at our regular Board of Education meeting, Columbia Schools recognized the following individuals and businesses:

Jason Friscone, Site Tech
Ray Anthony, T & M Construction
William Young, Southwest General
Doug Spielberger, Kokosing Construction Company

Thank you to each of you for your generous support of our educational and athletic projects.  We are appreciative of our partnership and thank you for supporting CLSD!

The final edition of the Raider Reflections will be an insert in the Rural Urban Record in the next couple of weeks.  I hope that you take the time to see the exciting happenings in our district.

The last day of school is Thursday, May 30th.  As always, thank you for your support of Columbia Schools!  This will be my last article until August.  I hope that you have a relaxing, fun and safe summer!  See you all on September 3rd for the first day of school.

Have a great week Raider Nation!
