This is an exciting time for you and your child. Very soon they will begin their educational journey which will prepare them for what lies ahead. It is our mission to engage each student in their learning and provide the best academic experience for them. You will soon find that there are many opportunities to be partners in education and we encourage each of you to take an interest and become involved with school. The following information is provided to assist you with an easy transition to Kindergarten.
Kindergarten Information Night
March 22, 2018
Join us in the K-8 cafeteria from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. This is a time for you to turn in your registration packet and sign up for kindergarten screening appointments. This will be time to meet other parents, staff and to become familiar with many school and community organizations. We hope that this night will be informative and we do ask that this time be for parents only. There will be opportunities for our new kindergarteners to visit us in the future. Please be prepared with a completed registration packet and copies of the documents below. Packets can be picked up at the Administration Center from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or the forms can be downloaded below. Kindergarten Screening will take place on May 17 and May 18, 2018.
Kindergarten Registration Packet:
- Please include copies (for student file, will not be returned) of the following items:
- Birth certificate

Kindergarten Open Enrollment Inquiries:
Please contact the Superintendent's Office (440/236-5008) and request an application. Applications for open enrollment are mailed after March 1. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
If your child is not eligible for enrollment in your home district, we cannot accept your application. EXAMPLE: if your home district’s age limitation for Kindergarten is 5 years old by August 1, and your child’s birth date is August 15, we cannot accept your child.
Please complete the enrollment and Kindergarten screening process in your home district. There is no need for open enrollment families to attend Copopa’s Kindergarten Information Night. If your child is accepted in the Columbia Schools, you will receive enrollment information with your acceptance letter. Applications will be acted upon by July 1.
If you have any further questions or would like an open enrollment application, please contact Patricia Cieslak, Secretary to the Superintendent, at 440/236-5008.
